WHAT IS REIKI ?

Reiki is based on the idea that the body has an invisible life force energy that flows through us, and is responsible for our health and wellbeing. Typically, our bodies are able to naturally heal themselves, but this energy is blocked or disrupted, our internal flow is it can lead to physical and emotional symptoms of discomfort.

We expose ourselves to things that block our body’s natural flow of energy on a daily basis. In today's chaotic and fast-paced world, everything from the food we eat, to sitting too long, to negative emotions can block our body’s natural ability to heal itself. This can cause stress, depression, anxiety, insomnia, bodily pains, general soreness, and many other affects on our wellbeing. As a result, people get caught in a cycle of negativity in their lives. The negativity continues to block the body’s flow of energy, and it can become increasingly harder to recover over time.

Reiki is a form of therapy where the healer lightly touches or places their hands near the client. This channels healing energy through the practitioner’s hands and into the client. The healer then uses this energy to realign the body to its natural levels.

Many people prefer Reiki energy healing for how noninvasive it is. Reiki sessions do not require the use of any tools or instruments on your body, which makes it a great option for people who are looking for a gentle yet effective form of healing. It can also be used as a complementary therapy to traditional medical treatments, as well as on its own. Reiki is suitable for people of all ages and can be used to address a wide range of health conditions. This makes it a versatile and accessible form of healing that anyone can take advantage of. For a free consultation, please click here or book a session by clicking the button below. THE SCIENCE OF REIKI ?

“Reiki” is derived from two Japanese words: “Rei,” which means “universal,” and “ki,” which means “energy.” There is untapped energy in the universe all around us, in the form of heat, electric fields, the energy our own bodies give off, and many others. However, we never notice this energy because they bounce around in every direction and cancel each other out. As a result, we rarely notice the energy surrounding us. Reiki is all about focusing this energy into a single direction, allowing it to cleanse and heal the body.

During a Reiki session, the practitioner will place their hands on or near the body in a series of positions. These positions are designed to target specific areas of the body that may be out of balance or have a block of energy. The practitioner will then guide the universal energy in a unified direction, which channels healing energy into the body through their hands.

Medical experts have noted that patients who go through Reiki sessions see stimulated neurons and an increase in the flow of oxygen in their bodies. These are believed to be a direct result of the improved flow of bioenergy in the body.

Neuron stimulation has been shown to relax the brain and increase positive feelings and general wellbeing. It reduces stress, which makes it easier for your body to naturally heal itself. Plus, it can increase memory and retention, and reduce the effects from diseases like Alzheimer’s.

The increased flow of oxygen can have a number of benefits for the body. For example, it can help to reduce inflammation, which decreases pain and puts less stress on your internal organs. It can also increase your body’s natural energy levels, leaving you feeling motivated and focused. These benefits can then make it easier to stay active and feel less foggy in your day-to-day life. Additionally, the increased flow of oxygen can help to promote a sense of relaxation and calm, which can be beneficial for those who are experiencing stress or anxiety.

The History of Reiki ?

Reiki energy healing, as we know it today, was developed in the 19th century by Mikao Usui in Japan. However, the practices of Reiki can be traced much further back in time. Ancient Tibetan Buddhists and other Eastern traditions have long recognized the power of universal energy in healing the mind, body, and spirit. The concept of channeling this energy through the hands is not a new idea, and has been trusted in various forms of healing for thousands of years.

Reiki, as developed by Usui, brought a renewed focus to this practice, and made it more widely accessible and recognized in the modern world. According to legend, Usui meditated for 21 days on the mountain, during which time he received a revelation about the healing power of universal energy. He then spent several years developing and perfecting the technique before teaching it to others.

The principles of Reiki, such as the importance of the practitioner's intentions, the use of hand positions, and concentration on healing the whole person, are all rooted in ancient wisdoms. Usui adapted these wisdoms to fit the needs of contemporary practitioners and patients, and make them easier to understand.

Usui’s students became the earliest known Reiki practitioners, who then spread the technique throughout Japan in the early 1900s. Reiki continued to grow in popularity and spread until it was introduced to the West in the 1970s, when a Japanese woman named Hawayo Takata brought the practice to Hawaii. From there, it spread to the mainland United States and eventually to other countries around the world.
